CCH Weekend Away 2026

We're looking forward to gathering for our 2026 church weekend away over the weekend of 9th to 10th May.  We'll be meeting once again at Letton Hall, near Thetford.

Below is some more general information:

When and Where?

  • Address is Letton Hall, Shipdham, Thetford, IP25 7SA
  • Arrival is from 10am on Saturday 9th, in time for our first session at 10:45am
  • For day guests, our last session on Saturday will finish at 8:30pm
  • For weekend guests, we will be departing at 3pm on Sunday

What is the accommodation like?

We stay at Letton Hall in Norfolk (about 90mins away from Huntingdon) and self cater. The accommodation is perfectly adequate, but modest – think shared bathrooms and student style furniture. But many people have found this to be quite a fun aspect of the weekend away!

We have a large outdoor tipi in the large garden space that we will use for our teaching and sung worship, as well as plenty of indoor space for eating meals and spending time together.

If the bedroom accommodation is really not appealing to you and would find this a real barrier, please do speak to us to find out more, or possibly consider coming as a day guest if that would be more comfortable for you.

I don’t drive. How can I get there?

Many people will have spare space in their car, so please let us know through the booking form and we can help find a suitable car share for you. It’s a great chance to have good chats on the car journey!

Will I have to share a room, and who with?

As there are limited bedrooms and we have been fully booked for the last two years, we will need to allocate people to shared bedrooms. Typically, families will share one room, couples will have their own room and single people will be allocated a single gender shared room, with thoughtful consideration about who they would share with.

If this is a concern to you at all, please do speak to Beth who will be in charge of room allocation.

Why is the pricing so complicated?

We want to be transparent about the costs of the weekend away, whilst also giving flexibility for those who might come for just part of the weekend. We also want to make sure that cost is not a reason for anyone to miss out – please feel absolutely no obligation to pay the standard price if this is not possible for you. Last year we were blessed by many overpayments, which leaves plenty of space for people to pay what they feel able.

How can I help on the weekend away?

Thank you for wanting to help! The weekend away is a team effort and we hope everyone will feel able to get stuck in.

There will be lots of ways to help on the weekend away, both in structured ways (such as helping prepare food, washing up, cleaning toilets, shifting furniture) and non-structured ways (praying with someone about something they’ve shared, leading an ad hoc game for the children, chatting with someone who is sat on their own).

We’ve suggested a few structured ways you could help in the booking form – please do tick any you would be happy to help with and we will start putting a rota together, to be shared in the week or so before the weekend away.

What do I need to bring?

  • Clothes and wash things if you're staying overnight
  • Towels (bed linen is provided)
  • A Bible
  • A notebook and pen
  • Fun things to do in free time Saturday afternoon - outdoor games, board games, craft activities
  • Bedding for a travel cot if you have booked one
  • Picnic blankets or camp chairs for our free time outside
  • Feel free to bring a blanket in case the evening service in the tipi gets chilly
